Bruce Jackson's Role

Supporting Bruce's Work

The Ministry of Bruce Jackson

Director of Urban Initiatives

Dr. Bruce Jackson serves the as the director of urban initiatives. He is providing guidance and direction through the inward, outward, and together journey to people living, ministering, working, and/or participating in the urban centers.

Helping ordinary people live as missionaries in their every day lives: Discipleship for a new era.

Inward Journey – The inward rhythm is where we discover and reinforce our identity as people deeply loved by God. In summing up the law of God, Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Luke 10) This commandment is the inward rhythm. As we connect to the reality of who God is, we can learn to live into the reality of who we were created to be. With a focus on spiritual formation and soul care, Bruce provides coaching, mentoring, and walking along side. This approach is aptly named Incarnational Coaching (mentor, spiritual/soul care guide, and coach for people to live out their call/purpose).

Together Journey – God intends us to live out our rhythms of life and call in community. Community is a mirror that reflects reality, a sounding board to better hear our thoughts, a place where our identity and actions are affirmed and a space where we can find accountability to live the life we want. Bruce serves churches and mission-minded groups through a process of establishing intentional, missional communities.

Outward Journey - The outward rhythm pulls us toward the least, the lost and the left behind. Jesus also said, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mk 12:30–31). This is the outward rhythm. The outward rhythm of sacrificial love for others naturally flows from the inward rhythm of loving and being loved by God. Bruce serves to guide churches and missional communities to become engaged in their neighborhood by walking “with” the people of the neighborhood. He helps to guide, to assess the needs and the assets of the community and to assist the missional community/church in living out their calling.
