Our Process

Becoming a Licensed Official Worker

Alliance pastors are passionate to win the lost for Christ, they guide and counsel their respective flocks to go deeper in their love for Jesus, while training them to be faithful stewards of the good news.

Step One

Establish a MyCMA Account

The entire process starts with establishing a MyCMA profile so that we can get to know you.

  • Agree to terms of use

    Be sure to check the box "I've read and agree to the Terms of Use" and then click "Create Account."

  • What is a MyCMA Account

    MyCMA Accounts are used on the website for The Christian and Missionary Alliance

  • Check Email

    Check your e-mail and click on the link provided to activate your account.

  • Validation

    You will need to enter the User ID and Validation Key provided in the email, then click "Proceed."

  • Sign in

    Sign into your new account with the same e-mail address and password you created.

Step Two

Launch Application

The application process is completed on the website for The Christian and Missionary Alliance using the MyCMA account you created in Step One.

Fill out the “Release of Records and Mediation Agreement” and then continue with the rest of the application.

This application includes

  • Doctrinal Questionnaire
  • Character References
  • Biographical Inventory
  • Bible Knowledge Exam
  • and several other forms

Step Three

Accreditation Interview

Following completion of the Application, an accreditation interview by the district’s Licensing Committee will take place.

The committee will assess your character, calling, and readiness for ministry as an Official Worker with the Alliance.

The district office will provide you with the next available date(s) to interview with the Committee upon completion of the Application.

Step Four

Licensing Process

Once you have passed the accreditation interview:

Without placement

If you are accredited without placement, you will receive a letter affirming your accreditation from the district superintendent.  Accreditation provides you the opportunity to seek a pastoral ministry position with any of our churches within the United States as you interact with the appropriate district superintendent.

Even without placement in an Alliance ministry, you can complete the Alliance Polity Course which is the next requirement towards licensing with the C&MA. To enroll in this course you will need a district assigned mentor.  Please contact the district office if you are interested in taking this step.

Ministry opportunity available

Upon completion of the Alliance Polity Course you will be issued a ministry license if you are currently placed or will be placed at a C&MA ministry in our district.

Please note that for various reasons, not everyone is approved for vocational service with the C&MA, but we desire to help you find your place in God's work. For questions regarding the application process, please contact the district office.
